The End Result-Everyday IPA

7 Feb

IMG_3412We finally cracked open the homemade beers we made with our Brooklyn Brew Shop kit on my birthday last Saturday and I must say, I was surprised it actually tasted like beer! I guess I had little faith in how well the process went, but for first timers i’d say we did a pretty darn good job. It tasted like beer! As an IPA it was quite hoppy and I thought slightly citrusy and a bit earthy. But it was beer that we made with our own 2, well, 6 hands! If you’re interested in making beer and IMG_3414don’t want to buy all the parts separately the Brooklyn Brew Shop sells kits with ALMOST everything you need in it for around $40. (I say almost because you need pots and strainers and such, but for the most part they provide all the ingredients and bottling equipment). It’s a great way to find out if beer making is something you really want to pursue without the monetary commitment of equipment you may never use again. I highly recommend it.
