Blackstone Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

22 Nov

Last night I cooked an amazing dinner of seared ahi tuna steaks with white rice and tempura vegetables with a friend. I let him choose the wine; he said he tried this brand not long ago and it was great for a cheap wine so I had to try it. The wine we drank was Blackstone cabernet sauvignon 2009 vintage. It’s a California wine. I’m not sure the alcohol by volume but it tasted about the strength of a normal table wine. It smelled nice like dark blackberries and tasted to match. It wasn’t too sweet or too tart. It had just the right amount of tannins with a nice finish that wasn’t too bitter. Not bad for a $7 wine from Winn-Dixie. Needless to say we finished the whole bottle and it actually went well with the fish which I wasn’t expecting.
